Cocopah Bingo & Casino

Cocopah Casino SomertonCocopah Bingo and Casino is a Native American casino owned by the Cocopah Indian tribe. The casino first opened its doors back in 1987 as a bingo hall but by 1992 had made the transition to a fully operating casino. Cocopah Casino was one of the first tribal gaming casinos to open in Arizona. It is located off of Highway 95, approximately 5 miles south of historical Yuma, Arizona. Cocopah Casino is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. It sports a 24,000 square floor establishment with 475 slots machines, video poker, video blackjack, video keno, and a 250 seat bingo hall. There is one restaurant, the Artisan Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is open from 6 AM to 10 PM. The menu is an All-American buffet with special dinners on some nights and a Champagne Brunch on Sundays. The Cocopah Casino also has a sports bar called the River’s Edge Bar and Sports Bar with video slots and several television screens above the bar. There is also the Snack Bar that serves just that, sandwiches and snacks.  The Cocopah casino does have a hotel onsite with standard rooms that offer either double or queen-sized beds. If that doesn’t suit your fancy, there are more accommodations right down the road. There is a Ramada, a Fairfield Inn, a Holiday Inn, Best Western, Clarion, and Shiloh to name a few. If you need a break from the casino, Yuma is only a few miles away. It is a historical town and has been voted by Golf Digest Magazine as having one of the top ten best golf resorts in the nation. The town itself features museums, art galleries, specialty shops, and ethnic restaurants.

Cocopah Casino Somerton Review

Cocopah Casino offers 475 different Slot Machines. Some of them have a progressive jackpot and others are centered around a theme with up to $10,000 prizes. Their bingo hall has 250 seats with Matinee live sessions at 1:00 PM and evening live sessions at 6:00 PM every day. The hall provides computer monitors for easy play and there are free hot dogs every Saturday.
Cocopah Casino has special buy-in bonuses for their bingo sessions.

Cocopah Casino’s Blackjack games are strictly low limits, ranging from $2 to $5.  They do have a Player’s Club which I think gives bonus reward points the more you play.

The games have given out some big jackpot wins. Back in February, 2008, a 79 year–old woman from Michigan won $163,335.30 on a “Wheel of Fortune” themed progressive slot machine. While the establishment does not seem to sport any live table games, their specialty still appears to be bingo. Its not as large a casino as some others across the state but if you are a fan of bingo, it sounds like a good set-up.
